FleetAfrica hosts the Pink Drive Truck

FleetAfrica hosted the Pink Drive truck on the 14th October at its head office. This initiative was an anchor event for the company’s annual breast cancer awareness month’s activities. The objective of the event was to create awareness and show support for those colleagues who are affected by breast and prostate cancer. The information that the Pink Drive experts presented on the day equipped FleetAfricans to deal with the different aspects and stages of both diseases efficaciously. The key focus of the lessons from the experts where meant to di-stigmatize both diseases amongst FleetAfricans. Over 90 employees were tested for breast and prostate cancer using state of the art equipment in the Pink Drive truck.
Stop Hunger Mandela Day event

FleetAfrica, together with Super Group, sponsored the Stop Hunger Mandela Day event titled "Meals in Memory". The event was held on Friday, 18 July 2014 at the Sandton Convention Centre in honour of the International Nelson Mandela Day.
FleetAfrica donated two 40ton Tautliners (truck & trailer) and 100 pallets to assist with the logistics involved in setting up the event. Stop Hunger had made a plea to Corporates and Government to support them in this initiative. Those who participated sent teams of employees to assist in packaging meal packs that would be distributed to various nursery school children in impoverished communities.
Ten FleetAfricans took part in the event and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They gave their individual 67 minutes and became part of the great volunteers that packed over 700 000 meal packs. This was an outstanding achievement and great way to honour the memory of a great man, Mr Nelson Mandela.
FleetAfrica sponsors 4th Annual Herman Nkuna Soccer Tournament

FleetAfrica and Super Group were again sponsors at the 4th annual Mopani Soccer Tournament, which has since been re-named to the Herman Nkuna Soccer Tournament in honor of the late Mr Herman Nkuna who was the founder and champion of the tournament. Mr Nkuna passed on in late 2013.
The tournament finals were held at the Giyani stadium on 14 December 2013, the event was a success and saw four teams battle it out for first place position and prize money valued at R35 000.00. Although all 4 teams played well and demonstrated why they deserved to be in the finals, there could only be one winner,the results are as follows:
1st Place – Nkowankowa Barcelona FC, R15 000.00
2nd Place – Beliga FC, R10 000.00
3rd Place – Mokwakwaila Golden City FC, R6 000.00
4th Place – Mariveni FC, R4 000.00

FleetAfrica recently exhibited at the SALGA National Members Assembly which took place on the 27 – 29 November 2013 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The theme for this year’s assembly was “Reflecting on Local Government’s contribution to the nation’s progress in the 20 year democratic path”. The conference was attended by over a 1000 SALGA members and gave FleetAfrica an opportunity to network and interacts with various municipal representatives varying from mayors, Municipal Managers and councilors.
FleetAfrica supports City of Polokwane‘s Annual Mayor’s Golf Day

FleetAfrica recently took part in third annual Mayoral Charity Golf Day hosted at the Polokwane Golf Club on Friday, on 25 October 2013. FleetAfrica was one of the sponsors at the event which saw over R1 million raised for various charity organizations in and around the City of Polokwane. The event was supported by over 100 golfers who were joined on the course by Polokwane Executive Mayor, Cllr Freddy Greaver and Limpopo Premier, Stan Mathabatha.
The mayor showed off his skills on the course, by achieving the longest drive on the seventh hole while FleetAfrica’s own Lollita Pitso showed her capabilities by driving the longest shot on the second hole.
City of Polokwane Fleet Handover

On Monday, 10 June 2013; FleetAfrica handed over a new fleet of vehicles to the City of Polokwane at a successful handover event held in Polokwane. The handover resulted from a contract awarded to FleetAfrica through a tender process for the provision of a comprehensive fleet solution and related equipment. The contract is for a period of five years and comprises of various vehicles ranging from commercial vehicles, sedans, earth-moving and Agricultural vehicles. FleetAfrica will supply these vehicles through three of its product offering, namely Full Maintenance Lease, Sale & Leaseback as well as the Managed Maintenance option. The event was attended by the Executive Mayor of City of Polokwane, Cllr Freddy Greaver who addressed the guests and FleetAfrica was represented by Mr Obed Nhlapo, Commercial Executive.

FleetAfrica took part in the 29th annual South African Emergency Services Institute Conference and Exhibition held at the Nasrec Expo Centre. FA took part in the exhibition to showcase its range of fleet management solutions and products suitable for the emergency services industry. Our participation at the show was in support of our client, the City of Joburg’s Emergency Management Services as well as to increase brand awareness for FleetAfrica in this industry.
FleetAfrica attends the ANC’s 53rd National Conference in Mangaung

FleetAfrica attended the 53rd ANC National Conference held in Mangaung from 15 – 20 December 2012. We attended the conference as part of the ANC Progressive Business Forum’s programme of dialogue, which offered corporates a unique opportunity to engage the ANC leadership on its economic and social policies.
We were given an opportunity to exhibit our company and to showcase our solutions alongside other corporate sponsors which included blue-chip companies such as; Investec, Vodacom, ABSA and Old Mutual. The event was a success and attended by leading high profile business leaders such as Stephen Koseff (Investec), Patrice Motsepe (ARM) and others.
A number of high profile ANC and Government leaders paid our exhibition stand a visit and spent considerable time interacting with FleetAfrica staff, these included; His Excellency President of the replublic - Mr Jacob Zuma, Chairman of Shanduka - Mr Cyril Ramaphosa (Deputy President of the ANC), Former Minister of Home Affairs - Dr Nkosazana Dhlamini Zuma (African Union Chairperson), Dr Zweli Mkhize (Premier : Kwazulu – Natal Province) and various local, provincial and national leaders including ( ministers, members of parliament, etc.)

Mopani Soccer Tournament
The Mopani Soccer Tournament is an annual event initiated by Mr Herman Nkuna , a Super Group employee and former national soccer referee. His vision was to establish a tournament that will unearth the talent that is in the informal leagues in the Mopani region and to contribute to the development of soccer within the region.
FleetAfrica has been involved with this initiative as a sponsor from its inception as we strongly believe in the role that sports plays in developing young people and instilling values of discipline and determination - thus elevating the social development factor in communities. Over 30 teams from the Mopani region compete in the tournament eliminating each other, up until the semi-final and final stages. This year's tournament was won byMariveni United FC.

The annual Public Private Sector week organised by the Local Government Business Network (LGBN) was held in Cape Town from 7 – 9 February 2012. The event included a Golf Day, Public Private Partnership (PPP) workshop and the launch of Andrew Mlangeni Foundation, one of the Rivonia Trialist. The event was a success and enabled FleetAfrica to interact and network with both public and private sector stakeholders.
